interpersonal dynamicsHave you noticed that conflict often arises from a simple fact: people look at the world through different lenses, and these differences in perception show up in how people communicate? We offer a program called Interpersonal Dynamics which helps people understand that differences actually are a good thing when understood and taken advantage of in daily activities. Purpose: Interpersonal Dynamics is a workshop that helps individuals understand that differences in perception arise from the distinctive ways people take in information and use it to communicate. The brain and how it functions has a great deal to do with this. Participants in this workshop learn why there are differences in how we take in and use information and how these differences play out in communication. They identify their own information processing dynamic and gain appreciation for the reality that others process differently, but that does not mean better. In fact, all processing mechanisms offer particular gifts to human endeavors. If these are understood, appreciated, and, most importantly, utilized consciously, people work better together and produce far superior products. You will learn both about yourself and others through this process.
Results: Participants learn both about themselves and others and how to improve daily communication. They will:
Structure: This is a highly interactive workshop designed to stimulate self understanding and cross dialogue between groups of people. The workshop is three days in length, but can be delivered in one two-day segment and one single-day segment separated in time. The first two days are designed to learn about the processing mechanisms, help individuals determine their own dynamic, and learn about one another. The third day provides time to apply the learning to a real time problem-solving exercise using a company generated scenario. By the time people have completed this workshop, they will have a much greater understanding about behaviors they have witnessed in their co-workers. They will also know how to approach one another in the most effective way to speed communication and work together more successfully. If you see that people in your company are getting sidetracked by their differences, then help them learn how to turn those differences into assets that will boost productivity and improve interpersonal relationships.
